art is a part of capital kitchen. as part of capital c, creativity is always on the menu. the restaurant is filled with and surrounded by art, design and architecture statements. beyond the restaurant, you’ll find a pop-up exhibition and art pieces around every corner.
whether you’re stopping by for coffee, a business lunch or dinner, creativity is always part of the experience.
creativity starts from within. we simply give it a place at the table.
as part of capital c amsterdam, capital kitchen is home to a curated collection of art and design by renowned dutch interior architect and curator maarten spruyt. inspired by his concept the inner human being, the collection explores creativity, identity and human connection through artworks displayed throughout the restaurant.
rather than decorating the space, each artwork has been selected to encourage curiosity, conversation and a fresh perspective. from breakfast and business lunches to private dinners and celebrations, the collection is designed to be discovered alongside the menu.
the restaurant collection evolves throughout the year, giving returning guests something new to experience with every visit.
the pop-up gallery at Capital C Amsterdam presents rotating exhibitions by emerging and established artists, alongside creative collaborations, installations and cultural events. located next to capital kitchen, the gallery offers visitors the opportunity to combine breakfast, lunch, dinner or drinks with a changing program of contemporary art.

My work documents moments from my relationship with my girlfriend. Through painting, I capture our shared experiences—from everyday situations to stylised scenes inspired by film stills. This series explores themes such as intimacy, coming of age, and the discipline that comes with being in a relationship.
During my residency at the Rijksakademie, my style has become softer, partly because I’m now painting a woman I love deeply. My fascination with cinema is reflected in works based on film fragments, where my girlfriend and I collaborate on the styling to recreate certain moments. Other paintings are simply spontaneous snapshots of real moments.
Close-up works reflect my experience with ADD: a tendency to focus intensely on small details rather than the bigger picture. These paintings show how my attention can be drawn to seemingly insignificant elements, like a tiny piece of fabric or a single blade of grass.
This series is a visual account of our relationship and my personal growth—the transition from boyhood to manhood through our “being in love.
For years, artist Peim van der Sloot has worked with stickers as his medium, deliberately limiting himself to a fixed palette of thirteen colours. For this exhibition at Capital C, he focuses on just one: blue.
Thousands of stickers, hand-applied layer upon layer, form flowing compositions that move between abstraction and recognition. The works evoke associations with water, air, and infinite space — revealing just how much can emerge from the limitation of a single colour.
Peim van der Sloot (1986) grew up in Argentina and graduated from the Utrecht School of the Arts (HKU) in 2010. His practice moves between abstraction and figuration, often inspired by walks through Amsterdam’s parks and the interplay of light, rhythm and atmosphere. At its core lies a fascination with limitation — working within a fixed palette, and building each image sticker by sticker, as a way of turning constraint into meaning.
